Defence industry recognition

Space sector recognition
Our consultants have been named finalists in the categories of Rising Star of the Year (SME) and Female Space Leader of the Year, celebrating EMA Advisory's role in shaping strategic space and satellite communications initiatives.
2024 finalists
EMA Advisory's executive team — Directors Emma Haskard and Matthew Bautz, together with General Manager Kerrin Andrews — travelled to Wellington as part of a Canberra Business Chamber initiative, engaging with leaders across New Zealand's defence, security and commercial sectors.
These conversations provided a valuable platform to share EMA's innovative frameworks — including our Procurement as a Capability (PaaC) approach — and to strengthen cross-Tasman collaboration. The delegation concluded with an evening celebrating HMAS Canberra's Freedom of Entry into Wellington, alongside representatives from the Royal Australian Navy, Royal New Zealand Navy and Pacific partners.

Our Principal Consultant for Space Capabilities, Kelly Barlow, moderated the panel discussion on "Australia's Defence export controls and existing legal frameworks — impacts to the space sector" at the Space Industry Association of Australia's Southern Space 2024.
A valuable discussion on the impacts that export controls, and legislative amendments more generally, can have on Australian businesses — including first-hand perspectives from those running space businesses amongst the layers of regulation.
Our running team was at it again — taking on various events that were part of the Canberra Running Festival, including the half marathon and the 10km event.

It brought together a range of space industry experts and decision-makers from across Australia, connecting the space industry with government.

As part of our community projects, the EMA team prepared dinner for the families of sick children staying at Ronald McDonald House in Garran, Canberra.
